2 Years Strong: Mike + Salwa | Austin Wedding Photographer | Arizona Anniversary Session
A very special session is on the blog this evening and I'm so excited to finally share it with everyone. If you've been following my photography journey for a while, you may recognize this couple, the beautiful and always entertaining, Mike and Salwa. They were among the first brave souls to hire me as their wedding photographer and I'm forever thankful for that honor. While they weren't my first wedding ever, they trusted and hired me before I had any samples, which meant more to me than I could ever express. Getting to see them on this last trip to AZ felt like greeting old friends/family and I was instantly reminded of Salwa's radiant personality and Mike's humor and how they just go together perfectly. We even went back to the same little secret "oasis" spot where we shot their engagement pictures and it all just felt right.
I've never actually laughed so hard while photographing a session and it's all due to their banter back and forth + their total honesty about everything. They're confident and unashamed to be exactly who God created them to be, which is one of my favorite things about them. They're also extremely willing to try new things for the sake of photography (Well, Salwa is. Mike goes along because he's a good hubs) and I still laugh out loud at our attempt to photograph blowing dandelions. In my experience, It's always a good time when the Matas are involved and I'm so happy I got to capture their love again, even after moving a few states away!
Keep scrolling and take a look at just a few of my favorite images from their anniversary session. I never thought I'd say it, but sessions like these actually make me miss the desert just a little:
