Mackenzi: Class of 2020 | Kansas City Senior Photographer | Lee's Summit, MO

Today’s post is honoring Mackenzi! Another stunning 2020 graduate that I had the privilege of photographing last year!

This girl has an energy that just radiates positivity and joy, which was so much fun to capture. There was just an instant friendship and comfort between us that allowed me to photograph so many beautiful and authentic portraits of her. I know I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again because it’s important: Clicking with your photographer is the key to getting the very best portraits in all situations! Beyond her lovely demeanor, while we were talking I also learned that her and I both were golfers in high school AND she sings. So there was no shortage of things to chat about from worship songs to golf swings. I just love getting to hear about peoples hobbies and passions, especially during photoshoots, because it makes the light come out in their eyes even more.

We shot her session at my favorite nature park in Lee’s Summit, MO at a perfect time for wildflowers. I love this park so much because you really never know what you’ll get. Magical light? A fallen tree? New blooms? A surprise field? No matter what, it’s always an adventure and it’s always beautiful! All of the natural treasures we found complimented Mackenzi perfectly and allowed us the perfect canvas to illustrate who she is in her senior year!
