Anna: Class of 2020 | Kansas City Senior Photographer | Wildflower Session
One of the biggest challenges I face as a photographer is dealing with bad weather. I always give my clients the same options:
Keep the session, bring umbrellas, dress appropriately for the temperatures and use the weather to our advantage (Rain or Snow pictures are actually really fun).
2. Move the location to somewhere indoors like their home.
3. Or reschedule to a day when the weather is supposed to be better.
I would say a majority of the time my clients choose option 3 but the challenge comes when the bad weather keeps moving to the days we reschedule to. It can get so discouraging, especially living in the Midwest where it feels like you can never count on the weather reports. But! When a session has been moved multiple times and we finally get to do it, magic happens. The light always seems to be extra perfect, the colors seem more vibrant, and everything just flows together effortlessly. Almost like we were mean to do the session on that new day with all of that anticipation.
A PERFECT example of this is the session featured on the blog today: Class of 2020 graduate Anna! I’m pretty sure we rescheduled her session 3 times due to rain last year but the day we actually got to shoot was absolutely magical, from the unexpected flowers to the gorgeous sunset. All of the magic only complimented Anna’s stunning features. I’m sorry, but can we all appreciate her gorgeous long natural red hair? Beyond being beautiful, she’s also a total sweetheart and it was so much getting to explore all of the natural treasures we found that day. She was completely willing to go barefoot on the rocks, twirl in the wildflowers, and be trendy in a cornfield to take advantage of this gorgeous day we had rescheduled so many times for.
Through all of that, we captured so many facets of who she is in this milestone and I just know she’s going to rock the heck out of her next chapters in life! Scroll to see more from her session:
Anna, thank you again for trusting me to capture this milestone for you! So excited to see all you will do next!
