Lauren: Class of 2020 | Kansas City Senior Photographer | Downtown Lee's Summit
Where do I even start? This blog post is a little more personal than most, so just bear with me!
First, meet Lauren, she is another 2020 senior I’m honoring on the blog and one of my favorite people in the state of Missouri! Lauren and I met at church and realized pretty quickly we were going to click!
I’ve spent over 2 years getting to chat with this girl about all the things from life, the Bible, music and more. Where we really connect is how we both love to get deep in every conversation we have, kicking small talk to the curb! She’s inspired me with her joy for the Lord, her love of simple things like journaling and todo lists, and how she loves people so genuinely. I’m going to miss her a lot when she heads to Mizzou this Summer, but I can’t want to hear how she impacts her new surroundings in big and beautiful ways!
Even though I’m close with Lauren, as with anyone I’m close to, I NEVER expect them to hire me to do their portraits. I’m completely ok if someone wants to go with another photographer, especially if they already have someone they’ve worked with and loved. So when Lauren asked me to do her senior pictures I was super excited! There’s a challenging aspect to photographing someone you love, because you already know so much of who they are and what you want to capture, so it can be intimidating! But it’s always worth it, because I get to play an extra special part in a milestone I already have so much care for.
We started Lauren’s Session in Downtown Lee’s Summit to capture her carefree spirit in some of her favorite spots including Whistle Stop Coffee (also one of my favorites!). Then, we went to James A Reed to include some nature since it was the Fall and the colors were starting to get gorgeous! With the variety of outfits and locations, we were able to capture so many facets of who Lauren is from her deep thinking mind to her joyous laugh and everything in-between. She’s just gorgeous inside and out and I’m so thankful I had the chance to capture that!
I had way too much trouble narrowing these down, but I’m giving myself some grace because this girl is almost like family. Keep Scrolling to see some of my favorite images from her senior session!
Lauren, thank you again for trusting me to illustrate a small part of your senior year! Now, onto the next chapter! You are going to SHINE at Mizzou!
